PPES COMPREHENSIVE MATHEMATICS PROGRAM
The PPES Comprehensive Math Program is a robust and tailored educational initiative designed to meet the diverse needs of K-12 students. This program focuses on building a strong foundation in mathematics, addressing both general and special education requirements. It offers a multi-tiered approach that includes foundational skill development, advanced problem-solving techniques, and real-world application scenarios. The program integrates technology and hands-on learning activities to engage students actively, making math accessible and enjoyable for all learners.
*The Comprehensive Math Program is customizable to fit the specific needs of each school or district. It includes:
*Diagnostic Assessments: To identify each student's current level and pinpoint areas for improvement.
*Individualized Learning Plans: Tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring no one is left behind.
*Small Group Instruction: Providing targeted support for students who need additional help, fostering a collaborative
learning environment.
*Advanced Enrichment Modules: For students who excel in math, offering challenges that stretch their capabilities and
prepare them for higher education and STEM careers.
*Parental Involvement: Workshops and resources to help parents support their children’s mathematical growth at home.
*Professional Development for Teachers: Equipping educators with the latest instructional strategies and tools to deliver
high-quality math education.
The Program is not structured by age or grade level, but by a student’s own pace, and is composed of mini-assignments that progress through increasingly difficult mathematics skills. Every assignment is timed and graded. Students master skills through repetition and cannot progress to a new skill before completing an assignment within a set amount of time and with close to 100% accuracy. New skills and exercises build on previously mastered concepts.
The curriculum is designed to enhance problem-solving and reasoning skills using grade-level math vocabulary. The curriculum includes place value, number theories, and the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with and without regrouping. It also covers comparing, ordering, and rounding of whole numbers and money, geometry and measurement, and fractions. The students learn to collect, record, interpret, predict, and construct different types of graphs.
