Program Overview


The PPES Inc. Substitute Teacher Success Program is designed to equip long-term substitute teachers with the essential skills and tools they need to manage classrooms effectively. This comprehensive program focuses on improving time management, organization, instructional delivery, classroom discipline, and the ability to follow and create lesson plans when none are provided. By enhancing these skills, schools can ensure that their substitute teachers are prepared to maintain continuity in students' learning experiences.



PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:


Improve Classroom Management:

Train substitutes on proven strategies for managing student behavior effectively.

Equip substitutes with techniques to establish authority and build rapport quickly.

Enhance Organizational Skills:

Provide tools and strategies for staying organized, managing time, and keeping track of multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Develop systems for maintaining classroom order, even when working without a lesson plan.

Strengthen Instructional Skills:

Train substitutes on how to deliver clear, engaging lessons, even when unfamiliar with the subject matter.

Offer guidance on how to adapt quickly to different grade levels and learning styles.

Lesson Plan Adaptation and Creation:

Teach substitutes how to follow existing lesson plans effectively and how to improvise when plans are incomplete or unavailable.
Provide training on creating effective, standards-aligned lesson plans on the fly.

Initial Training Workshop: A one-day intensive workshop covering key areas such as time management, classroom management, and instructional techniques.

Follow-up Seminars: Monthly seminars to reinforce concepts and address challenges substitutes may face in the field.


ON-THE-JOB SUPPORT:

Mentorship Program: Pair substitutes with experienced teachers or instructional coaches who can provide guidance and feedback.

Observation and Feedback: Regular classroom observations followed by constructive feedback sessions to help substitutes refine their techniques.


RESOURCE TOOLKIT:

Substitute Teacher Handbook: A comprehensive guide with tips, strategies, and templates for successful classroom management and lesson planning.

Emergency Lesson Plans: A set of generic, adaptable lesson plans for different grade levels and subjects that substitutes can use in a pinch.


ONGOING SUPPORT


Regular Check-ins: Monthly check-ins with a PPES Inc. consultant to review progress and address any.



PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION:

Initial Consultation with Schools: PPES Inc. will conduct an initial consultation to understand the specific needs of the school and tailor the program accordingly.

Customized Training Plans: The program will be customized based on the school’s specific substitute teacher needs, taking into account the grade levels and subjects most often covered by substitutes.

Ongoing Assessment and Improvement: Regular assessment of the program’s effectiveness, with adjustments made based on feedback from substitutes, teachers, and school administrators.

Basic Package: Includes the initial workshop and resource toolkit - $1,000 per substitute.

Advanced Package: Includes all basic package features plus monthly follow-up seminars and ongoing support - $2,000 per substitute.

Premium Package: Includes all advanced package features plus personalized mentorship, on-the-job support, and regular check-ins - $3,000 per substitute.
