​​PPES PARENT COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION


Conduct a needs analysis to identify areas of growth.

Assist with officer elections, agenda preparation, meeting minutes, and quorum establishment.

Train officers in leadership roles and responsibilities.

Provide assistance to classroom teachers and administrators in addressing the unique needs of bilingual students to enhance academic outcomes.

Create and manage a volunteer program to engage bilingual families in supporting school activities.

Develop programs to support bilingual students and parents.

Facilitate communication between the school and bilingual families to increase engagement.

Partner with other organizations to align goals for bilingual student success.


DELIVERABLES


Parent participation increases by 2%-5% each month in BAC meetings and programs.

Active volunteer programs that connect bilingual families with school initiatives.

Increased awareness of resources available to bilingual families.

Greater collaboration with PAC, LSC, and PTA to improve bilingual student outcomes.

Increased teacher and student attendance at school and at meetings.

Empower BAC officers with the knowledge to lead effectively and advocate for multilingual learners.

Strengthen communication with school staff and bilingual families.


Organizing Inclusive and Culturally Responsive Meetings

Learn to facilitate meetings that address the needs of multilingual families and promote engagement.

What Participants Will Learn:
Use Robert’s Rules of Order to guide discussions and decisions.
Develop agendas that focus on key bilingual education topics.
Create an environment where all participants feel valued and heard.


Advocating for Bilingual Programs and Resources
Gain tools to champion programs and policies that support multilingual learners.

What Participants Will Learn:
Advocate for equitable funding and resources for bilingual education.
Work with school staff to address the unique needs of multilingual students.
Engage families to promote language development at home and in school.


Building Community Partnerships to Support Multilingual Families
Learn to connect with local organizations to provide resources and support for bilingual families.

Identify community partners that align with BAC goals.
Plan collaborative initiatives that enhance family engagement.
Strengthen ties between schools, families, and the community.


Conducting Elections and Onboarding New Leaders
Understand the election process for BAC officers and how to transition leadership effectively.

Plan and execute elections with transparency and fairness.
Recruit parents to take on leadership roles.
Develop onboarding processes to ensure new leaders are well-prepared.
