PPES PARENT COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

COMPLIANCE
Conduct a needs analysis of the current PAC.
Provide support to the school in meeting its goals regarding the parental involvement provisions.
Review current bylaws and make recommendations for revisions or amendments if needed.
Make recommendations on appropriate expenditures (Essential Expenditures).
Review and monitor meeting procedures.
Review the election process.
Assist with the election of officers.
Assist with meeting notices.
Assist with the agenda for meetings.
Assist with the minutes for meetings.
Assist with establishing a quorum and increasing parent attendance at meetings.


COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND OTHER DUTIES
Collect program data for continuous evaluation.
Communicate via telephone, texts, mailings, and emails.
Assist with monthly meetings, notices, and guidelines.
Provide training opportunities for parents around literacy and student achievement.
Coordinate and facilitate activities with the Principals, Parents, and members of the community.
Develop and maintain a structured parent/community volunteer program.

Keep records and prepare reports, including a portfolio of accomplishments

          *Evaluations
          *Portfolio of progress
          *Monitor/Track Parent and Student Progress

Provide resources and support for parents.
Create a welcoming school environment for parents.
Serve as a facilitator for parent and school community concerns.
Create periodic newsletters/calendars and coordinate communication with parents.
Performs other duties to facilitate the achievement of the district’s goals by any means necessary.
Coordinates educational opportunities to promote student achievement, attendance, and home-school partnerships.
Develop programs and activities for parents to be involved in with their children to promote successful participation in all phases of school life.
Assist in planning meetings with parents to enhance the effectiveness of relationships between the parent, school, and student.
Plan and conduct in-service activities for Title I PAC parents.
Coordinate activities with the principal, parents, and community.
Facilitate activities involving students, teachers, and parents.
Develop and maintain a parent/community volunteer program.
Develop and distribute the monthly parent newsletter and calendar.
Coordinate activities with community agencies and corporations.
Other duties as directed by the principal.


PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND ACTIVITIES
School-Wide Parent Retreat / Annual Report Meeting.
Leadership Training for Officers (Chairperson, Co-Chairperson, Secretary, Outreach Coordinator).
Parent Networking Events.
Parent Workshops.
Parent Seminars.
Parent Conferences



DELIVERABLES
Parent involvement will increase by 2% - 5% each month (10 - 25 parents each month).
PAC board will be well-versed in rules, policies, roles, and responsibilities.
Communication between parents, teachers, students, and community members will increase.
Parents will receive professional development monthly.
Student attendance will improve.
Teacher attendance will improve.
Disciplinarian referrals will decrease.tendance at school and at meetings.
